To HardSpace.co.uk, a site dedicated to the promotion and discussion of Extreme Music

Since 1979 I have been interested in 'harder' types of music. I remember devouring Sounds magazine every week and listening to Tommy Vance on the Radio 1 Friday Rock Show and then following it up with a dose of Alan 'Fluff' Freeman on the Radio 1 Saturday Rock Show. Over the years my tastes have got more extreme and encompassed the ever expanding musical genres that seem to appear almost monthly, but I still have not abandoned the bands that got me interested in the first place. This site seeks to bring together my areas of interest within extreme music, help develop new ones, and promote intelligent discussion

Genre

There are numerous genres within the harder spectrum of music.

While not being able to list them all and recognising the self-limiting use of such lables, it is a useful way of indicating the current (but ever changing) scope of the site: Black metal, Death metal, Doom metal, Folk metal, Glam metal, Gothic metal, Groove metal, Industrial metal, Metalcore, Neo-classical metal, Nu metal, Post-metal, Power metal, Progressive metal, Sludge metal, Speed metal, Stoner metal, Thrash metal...
